Current Police Employment Opportunities

The Campbell County Police Department accepts both Lateral and Recruit Police Officer applications year round.

Per Kentucky law, to be considered for police employment, candidates must render proof of being 21 years of age by date of appointment. Proof may include a copy of one’s birth certificate.

Per Kentucky law, to be considered for police employment, former military personnel cannot have been discharged for bad conduct. Proof may include a copy of one’s DD Form 214.

Lateral Police Officer requirements: Lateral candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a police officer, presently employed in a law enforcement position, or have served in a law enforcement position within the past twelve months. Candidates with police service established in states other than the Commonwealth may be considered for lateral entry, provided they meet the Basic Training requirements as set forth by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council.
