Dodsworth Bridge Closure
Construction of a drainage structure to carry Duck Creek under Dodsworth Lane (CR 1316) and replace a substandard bridge will begin Monday, Aug. 2.
“When completed, this will bring a segment of roadway up to current standards and provide safer passage for motorists in Campbell County, especially for school buses that travel this route,” said Rob Hans, chief engineer for Department of Highways District 6.
Frederick & May Construction Co., of West Liberty, was awarded the low bid contract for $833,172.00.
The current bridge is too narrow for two lanes of traffic. The new structure, a buried culvert, will be 90 feet long and provide for two, 9-foot-wide lanes.
During construction, the roadway will be closed to through traffic for 60 days, beginning Aug. 2. Traffic will be detoured to use KY 8, KY 1998 (Industrial Road), US 27, KY 2925 (East Alexandria Pike).
